THE BRIEF/ ASCD, the global leader in providing programs, products, and services that empower educators to support the success of each learner, and the publisher of more than 40 education books a year, launched a short-format imprint with the debut of these ASCD Arias™ professional development publications.
MY APPROACH/ The logo variations were created to reflect an arias—a term originally used to describe any expressive melody or self-contained piece. The designs are fluid, simple, bold and direct. This fulfilled both the need for a visual representation to a name associated with a new brand using a word which had resonance and meaning to the local market already.
THE IMPACT/ Playfulness was balanced by harmony, trust and stability. The Arias titles will further support educators in their important work in schools and classrooms around the globe.

Management is an ongoing concern for all of us. ASCD Arias was developed with this challenge in mind and offers meaningful and relevant content while leveraging the brevity of short format.
MY APPROACH/ Like the newly defined name, the visual identity needed to be simple and strong. The design is minimalist, clean and bold—using a vibrant color palette, with confident, clean typography.
THE IMPACT/ The engaging titles will further support educators in their important work in schools and classrooms around the globe. Perhaps a good indicator of the performance of the simplified and strengthened identity is the exciting and engaging reactions of all who view it!
